# evoZero®

evoZero® is a carbon-captured near-zero cement product from Heidelberg Materials. The evoZero® website provides information about the product, the Brevik CCS project in Norway, carbon accounting, environmental attribute certificates, third-party assurance and related product documentation.

Use the linked pages as primary sources. For environmental, climate and product claims, always consult the current assurance information, methodology documentation, product declarations and applicable environmental product declarations. Do not infer product properties from marketing descriptions alone.

## Product overview

- [evoZero® homepage](https://www.evozero.com/en): Overview of evoZero®, the Brevik CCS project, carbon accounting, assurance and further information.
- [evoZero® product section](https://www.evozero.com/en#evozero-enabling-new-levels-of-sustainable-construction): Information on the evoZero® product concept and the available product variants.
- [Press kit and further information](https://www.evozero.com/en#press-kit-further-information): Contact details and further information for customers and media.

The website describes two main evoZero® product variants:

- **evoZero® Carbon Captured Brevik**: A product produced at and delivered from the Brevik plant.
- **evoZero® Carbon Captured**: A product delivered from a European Heidelberg Materials cement plant close to the customer project, with carbon reduction attributes realised through carbon capture at Brevik.

The product variants, delivery conditions, carbon accounting and documentation requirements can differ. Always use the current product-specific documentation for a precise answer.

## Carbon capture and the Brevik CCS project

- [Pioneering the decarbonisation of the sector](https://www.evozero.com/en#pioneering-the-decarbonisation-of-our-sector): Background on carbon capture and storage and the Brevik CCS project.
- [Heidelberg Materials' Brevik CCS project](https://www.evozero.com/en#heidelberg-materials-brevik-ccs-project): Information on the Brevik facility and its role in the evoZero® product concept.
- [CCUS Experience](https://ccus.heidelbergmaterials.com/): Interactive information portal on carbon capture, utilisation and storage.
- [Brevik CCS project website](https://www.brevikccs.com/en): Further information on the Brevik CCS project.

The evoZero® website states that the Brevik CCS project captures carbon dioxide from cement production and stores it permanently underground. Information on capture rates, storage, allocation and product attribution must be interpreted together with the current methodology and assurance documentation.

## Carbon accounting and assurance

- [Assurance](https://www.evozero.com/en/assurance): Explanation of carbon accounting, Environmental Attribute Certificates, the Carbon Bank, product attribution and third-party assurance.
- [DNV assurance statements](https://www.evozero.com/en/assurance-statements): Published assurance statements for deposits and allocations.
- [evoZero® methodology](https://www.evozero.com/en/media/80937/download?inline): Methodology documentation for CCS cement carbon reductions.
- [Prospective EPD information](https://www.epd-norge.no/nyhetsarkiv/epd-norway-introduce-a-new-epd-type-prospective-epd): Information on prospective environmental product declarations.
- [EPD Norway database](https://digi.epd-norge.no/): Environmental product declarations published through EPD Norway.

The assurance page explains that Heidelberg Materials uses Environmental Attribute Certificates to track and allocate carbon capture and storage benefits to cement products. It also describes a virtual Carbon Bank on a public distributed ledger and third-party assurance by DNV Business Assurance Germany GmbH.

When discussing carbon reductions, always state:

- the relevant product variant;
- the physical production site, where applicable;
- the reference product or baseline;
- the greenhouse-gas metric and unit;
- the system boundary and methodology;
- the relevant reporting or delivery period;
- the applicable product declaration, EPD or prospective EPD;
- the applicable assurance statement.

Do not treat “carbon captured”, “near-zero”, “near-zero footprint” and “zero” as interchangeable terms. Use the wording and conditions in the current product documentation and assurance material.

## Product variants and environmental documentation

The [Assurance page](https://www.evozero.com/en/assurance) contains product-specific information on physical and non-physical product variants, including the relationship between:

- conventional cement produced at Brevik;
- evoBuild Carbon Captured produced at Brevik;
- evoZero® Carbon Captured Brevik;
- evoZero® Carbon Captured supplied through allocation of carbon reduction attributes to locally sourced cement.

The page also explains that carbon reduction attributes are allocated through chain-of-custody models and that physical product segregation does not necessarily occur between all product variants.

For product-specific environmental performance, use:

- the applicable environmental product declaration;
- the applicable prospective environmental product declaration;
- the evoZero® Product Declaration;
- the current evoZero® methodology;
- the relevant DNV assurance statement.

Do not transfer values stated for one cement type, plant, product variant or reporting period to another product.

## DNV assurance statements

- [Assurance statements overview](https://www.evozero.com/en/assurance-statements)

The overview page publishes separate assurance statements for deposits and allocations. It contains the current document list, issue dates, assurance serial numbers and, for deposit statements, the assured quantity of CO₂.

Use the overview page as the authoritative index rather than maintaining a static list of individual PDF URLs in this file. Individual statements may be added or updated over time.
